Prof. Michel Tremblay Lab - The Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute
Position Summary:
Contract Period: September 2, 2025, to September 1, 2026.
With minimal or no supervision, the candidate should be able to conduct research projects using established protocols, processes and procedures such as cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
Read literature, oversee, and assist with the design and execution of experiments.
Recommend and implement improvements, troubleshoot research challenges, assist in resolving conceptual design issues, and support the development of models and simulations.
Review and evaluation of research findings and write reports and manuscripts related to research activities.
Assist with preparation of grant applications.
Assist with technical guidance and training to graduate students.
Perform administrative tasks related to the project, ensuring compliance with research standards and protocols.
Education & Experience
Possesses specialized knowledge of the field or discipline acquired through a Master’s Degree. Those who have recently completed their PhD program will be considered as well.
Experience working with immune cells, including NK cell, T cell and T cell receptor signaling.
Excellent knowledge of flow cytometry, ELISPOT and ELISA assays. Knowledge of cancer immunotherapy and immunosuppressive mechanisms within the tumor.
Expertise in the study of animal models and in vivo tumor growth.
Excellent knowledge in the field of phosphatases and kinases and their role in cancer and immunity.
Experience with bioinformatics, data analysis and graphical design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in a range of laboratory techniques, including cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
Good knowledge of research methodologies, experimental design, and data analysis techniques specific to immunology
Experience in conducting various immunological assays, such as cytokine profiling, cell proliferation assays, and immunofluorescence staining.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team, as research often involves interdisciplinary collaboration.
