Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Mechanical Engineering is searching for a Research Assistant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will provide support by assisting with research engineering and hardware to support projects in bioprinting, soft robotics, neurorobotics and tissue engineering. You will fabricate and test new soft actuators using novel materials and such other tasks that are assigned to you. **Responsibilities:** + Equipment installation + Equipment maintenance + Inventory management + Ordering + Documentation and reporting + Soft actuator fabrication and testing + Soft actuator modeling + Manuscript and presentation generation + CAD + Rapid Prototyping + Custom equipment design and manufacture + Mechatronics system design, build, and test + Support for sea slug feeding studies and bioinspired robots Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon University.
