You will drive all phases of product development and manufacturing scale-up, working closely with teams from Packaging, Marketing, Product Supply, Sales, Microbiology, and Regulatory.
This role will report to the Food R&D Business Manager.
This position will be located in our Pleasanton, CA office, and the individual will be expected to be in the office 3 days a week. Relocation assistance will be offered.
In this role, you will:
Develop product specifications deliverable at scale, working closely with our manufacturing partners to ensure successful scale-up from lab bench through production. Includes development of new manufacturing processes with support, when necessary.
Lead Product / Process Development for new Hidden Valley Ranch products, ensuring technical requirements are achieved on time and with appropriate rigor.
Work with project team and make technical recommendations that drive efficiency and manage risk while delivering the Hidden Valley Ranch experience our consumers expect.
Design and execute technical plans to develop delicious product formulations which meet superior taste and stability requirements. Includes development of new test methods with support when necessary.
Work closely with current and potential suppliers to identify and develop innovative solutions to meet objectives presented in projects.
Drive creation of exclusionary strategy and intellectual property on projects, where applicable.
Collaborate with R&D team and cross-functional peers that value open learning, technical curiosity, and support development, sharing, and testing of new ideas to feed our Hidden valley innovation pipeline, because life is too short for boring meals.
What we look for:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Chemical Engineering
Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in consumer products with a focus on Product, Package and/or Process Development.
Experience with fast-paced projects where deliverables are measured in days to weeks.
Experience working in Food / FDA regulated business is a plus.
Skills required
High passion, positive drive and commitment in setting and meeting aggressive goals and enjoy working in a variety of cultures and settings.
Demonstrated strong leadership, influence, communication, and interpersonal skills to work with multi-functional groups.
Strong technical curiosity and creative problem-solving skills, sound technical judgement, and a desire to be hands-on in a laboratory setting.
Ability to identify, champion and adapt new technologies, tools, and processes.
