A R&D Engineer 2 at Cook Medical is tasked with solving engineering problems, developing new products and processes, and leading portions of new development projects within R&D engineering.
This position will be based out of our Bloomington, Indiana location working in a full time on-site capacity on endovascular stent grafts. The ideal candidate will have experience with creating and documenting design outputs for vascular stents and delivery systems, performing tensile, torque, and deployment studies for feasibility and verification/validation testing, and working in various capacities to drive project completion through collaboration with functional groups like quality, regulatory, and product management.
Responsibilities Utilize engineering knowledge and technical expertise to lead, organize, execute, and coordinate various aspects of new development work within R&DComplete projects consistent with corporate and departmental objectives by engaging the efforts of other engineering, manufacturing, regulatory, quality assurance, and marketing staffAct as a mentor to other personnel in the Engineering departmentContribute to the intellectual property of the company via invention disclosures and patent applicationsPrepare and maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, and manufacturing processes consistent with the requirements of pertinent regulations and Cook’s Quality Management SystemMaintain and increase technical, medical and biomedical development knowledge related to the company’s product linesMaintain accurate and timely reports and recordsMust work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization to achieve company goals Qualifications BS degree in Engineering or a related degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experienceExperience in communication and working with a wide variety of associatesExperience working independently and directing others towards a common goalExperience using analytical skills and problem solvingQualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Physical Requirements:
