Repossession Manager

A large commercial and consumer banking client is looking for a Repossession Manager to join their organization. This person will oversee all aspects of the Repossession, Collateral Protection Insurane and Total Loss claims for the bank owned vehicle. This team is part of the overall Consumer Lending organziation that manages all Consumer Loans for the bank. This person will be an expert in the repossession of auto loans and the processes around it.
This person will be responsible for:
- When an auto loan becomes delinquent, the manager will assign the situation to an approved repossession agent. This person will be manaaging the entire process of identifying the vehicle, bringing it to auction, liquidating the vehicle and following the post repossesion process. If there is difficulty identifying the individual or vehicle they will work with attorneys to ensure any action needed to get a replevin order is taken.
- During the post repossession process, they will work with legal resources and collectiosn agencies to collect any remaining balances.
- This person will oversee the performance of the repossession coordinator, repossession supervisor, insurance coordinator and clerical support staff
- This person will be approving any external resources being used, including legal fees, collectiosn agencies, etc.
- They will also be approving the risk clients pose to the bank and the appropriate action to be taken if the client wants to retain the vehicle.
- They will get notified for any impounded vehicles. This person will be cooridnating with tow companies to repossess capital whether it is delinquent or not.
- They will handle any escalated client calls and work directly with the end client to resolve repossession issues.
- They will ascertain the value of the repossessed collateral to ensure accurate sale value
- They will document the extend of damage to the bank owned collateral and file insurance claims when necessary
- They are going to bre responsible for monitoring for fraud by reviewing the default loan files and notify Fraud Risk Management when necessary
- They will be preparing various reports for senior leadership on the status of repossessions, sales and losses.
