Reporting & Analytics Lead

The Reporting & Analytics Lead is responsible for overseeing the reporting and analytics functions within the Billing & Collections Department. This role involves generating detailed reports, analyzing data, and providing actionable insights to drive strategic decisions and improve departmental performance. The Reporting & Analytics Lead ensures data accuracy, develops key performance indicators (KPIs), and works closely with the AVP to optimize billing and collections operations through data-driven strategies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Reporting and Management
• Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive suite of reports and dashboards to track key metrics related to billing, collections, reconciliations, refunds, and customer service.
• Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for the AVP and senior management, providing clear and concise analysis of performance against targets.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all reporting systems and databases, implementing quality control checks and processes.
• Present data and insights in a user-friendly format to facilitate decision-making for both operational teams and leadership.
Analytics and Insights
• Conduct in-depth analysis of billing and collections data, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop predictive models and forecasts to assist the department in financial planning, risk management, and operational efficiency.
• Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to improve billing accuracy, collection efficiency, and overall financial performance.
• Analyze the impact of various strategies and initiatives, supporting the AVP in making data-driven decisions.

Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Development and Tracking
• Develop and refine KPIs to monitor and evaluate the performance of the Billing and Collections Department.
• Track progress against KPIs, identifying areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
• Create visual dashboards that allow real-time tracking of KPIs and other critical metrics by the department and leadership.

Collaboration and Communication
• Collaborate with billing, collections, operations support, and finance teams to ensure alignment on data collection, reporting requirements, and performance metrics.
• Work closely with IT to ensure that reporting systems and tools are optimized and that any system issues are promptly addressed.
• Communicate findings and insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that complex data is accessible and understandable.

Process Improvement
• Identify inefficiencies and gaps in the reporting and analytics processes and implement improvements to enhance accuracy and timeliness.
• Drive the automation of reporting processes to reduce manual efforts and improve data reliability.
• Work with operational teams to translate data insights into actionable process improvements that enhance overall departmental performance.

Compliance and Audit Support
• Ensure that all reporting processes comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and timely reports and data, as well as ensuring that all reporting procedures are transparent and well-documented.
• Implement corrective actions and improvements as needed to address audit findings related to reporting and data management.

Training and Development:
• Provide training and support to department staff on data reporting and analytics tools and best practices.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in reporting and analytics, recommending new tools or approaches to enhance the department’s capabilities.
• Mentor junior analysts and team members to build a strong analytics culture within the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, data science, business analytics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in reporting and analytics, preferably within billing and collections or the healthcare industry.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau) and billing/collections software systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience in developing and tracking KPIs, forecasting, and predictive modeling.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
