What's the role?

The Toowoomba Chronicle is seeking an experienced Reporter with a strong news sense and the ability to drive a daily news agenda.

You will be an aspiring, ambitious and experienced writer who is an organised self-starter with a knack for recognising and pursuing quality content that appeals to our audience and drives online engagement.

About the role:

Oversee and drive daily content for online and print

Manage news, event and content planning

Identify biggest stories of the day and drive through to publication

Work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment

Lead journalists to drive subscriber growth and retention

Oversee the generation of engaging content and search for fresh stories that are not already breaking

Who are you?

An ambitious storyteller with exceptional news judgment

Multiple years of reporting experience

Solid digital and print experience and ability to drive audience growth

Experience overseeing the writing of quality content to tight deadlines is desired

You are a team player with excellent communication skills and knowledge of an extensive range of topics
