Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025. Our NBC and Telemundo station in San Diego is looking for a bilingual news reporter for our duopoly. Job Responsibilities: + Strong news writing skills and the ability to edit, produce and gather content + Able to cover breaking/spot news, general news, and feature stories relevant to the San Diego community on your own on-a-daily basis. + Create web content that complements the station website. + Report, write and produce packages content for a variety of other platforms.  + Collaborates across all levels, highly organized and can work with digital editors, reporters, assignment editors, and other producers. + Develop and maintain a network of news sources providing access to exclusive local news. + Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines in a 24/7 duopoly newsroom. Basic Qualifications: + Minimum of two years' experience as a Reporter or Multi-Media Journalist. + Bachelor’s degree. + Demonstrated skills as reporter, photographer and editor. + Bilingual (English/Spanish) both written and verbal. + Ability to cover a beat + Team player with strong interpersonal skills + Critical thinking skills, able to understand and communicate complex issues + Good people skills, able to relate to people of all backgrounds Eligibility Requirements: + Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV and Demo Reel through the www.nbcunicareers.com site + Must be willing to work at the station in San Diego location + Must be willing to submit to a background investigation + Must be 18 years or older + Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States + Must have valid driver’s license + Must have ability to work any of a 24x7 shift + Must submit a sample of own work to be considered Desired: + Preferred prior experience with Dalet news system and adobe premier + Working knowledge of non-linear editing + Working knowledge of Panasonic P2 Requirements/Benefits: + Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite. + This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
