Repair & Maintenance Technician, Managed Pressure Drilling

The R&M Technician role undertakes hands-on tasks and utilizes Weatherford's facilities, equipment, machinery, and systems. The role applies techniques and practices to complete the scope of tasks covering inspection, repair, and maintenance of field tools, preparing them for their next assignment. Tasks will span the entire process from receiving the tools, dismantling, repairing, and refurbishing using technical manuals, procedures, and technical work instructions. While this is a generic job description covering the different levels of the R&M Technician position, all aspects of the roles and responsibilities are relevant. More senior roles lead and oversee tasks carried out by other R&M employees.

3-6+ years of experience in relevant industry.High School Diploma.Working with hazardous materials, radioactive elements & explosives. Awareness of NDT, NDE and ATEX policies & principles.Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, monitoring of equipment.Critical thinking, active learning & listening, complex problem solving skill.Good reading and writing skills, strong judgement and decision-making to be in line with policies & procedures.Quality Control Analysis to ensure product meets required standards.Capable to meet the physical demands that the role requires.Information & task ordering & ability to identify when a problem may occur and where possible to understand solution.Ability to react effectively and efficiently in operating tools and machinery.Ability to imagine how tools and products will look when preparing for assembly, repair or modifications.

Travel Requirement: This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to:  <10%

 

Attend daily operations and safety meetings (toolbox, JHA), and report issues promptly using the proper tools.Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean, safe, and operational condition.Perform mechanical repairs using hand tools, hoists, cranes, drills, and testing instruments.Inspect parts and measure dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other tools.Follow maintenance procedures for unloading, cleaning, testing, assembling, and storing equipment, with proper documentation.Complete work orders, checklists, and maintenance records accurately based on training level.Clock in/out using the Work Order time tracking system as required.Safely operate lifting equipment (forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks) and move materials; valid certification required.Handle incoming/outgoing shipments, verify quantities, and ensure documentation complies with procedures.In senior roles, lead the team, troubleshoot issues, and provide access to procedures and technical documents.Support LEAN initiatives and participate in continuous improvement activities.Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring all tasks are done safely and efficiently.
