While working under minimal supervision the Mobile Device Repair Lead will inspect, refurbish, test, troubleshoot and program electronic equipment. Attention to detail and mechanical aptitude is required while working on complex projects and assisting less experienced peers. Highly skilled with moderate level of proficiency.
 

This is an onsite role in our Lewisville TX facility with a schedule of Monday - Thursday, 6AM - 4:30PM.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? 

Assist Engineering Department with troubleshooting, software flashing support, and new product introductions

Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues

Assists as Subject Matter Expert for internal and external clients

Conducts standup meetings and Tech Talks in supervisor’s absence.

Validates and evaluates new & tech damage product from line

Validates, provides feedback and enters line reworks into excel database

Validates & signs off on all UR/BER from line

Assists in evaluation and generation of material escalations

Assists in generation of Engineering change requests for process and documentation changes

Assists and completes submission of help desk tickets for associates requiring login issues, equipment issues, etc.

Conduct training, mentoring, and coaching of associates in job related functions and recommends to supervisor associate training opportunities

Monitors work flow and work in process in line and allocates resources accordingly keeping supervisor up to date

Conduct root cause failure analysis and troubleshooting on suspected defective devices

Perform electromechanical assembly using hand and electric tools

Must be able to perform precise component level and board repairs

Identify and report root cause deficiencies

Identify and report routine process deficiencies

Test, repair and troubleshoot devices to isolate root cause

Perform soldering and de-soldering using handheld soldering and hot air equipment

Work with care and urgency in order to meet production goals

Participate in continuous improvement and team building activities

Refer to and follow Standard Operating Procedures to perform the job duties

Use a computer to enter data into the company database

Physically move material as needed

Perform other duties as assigned 

What are the requirements needed for this position? 

High School diploma or GED required

Ability to maintain a minimum 2.0 device per hour when repairing/refurbishing devices and/or performing level II

Proficient in analog, digital and RF disciplines

Proficient in reading and understanding schematics

Demonstrated proficiency with soldering and de-soldering using handheld soldering and hot air equipment

Proficient in all process related procedures and equipment required for performing job functions of the Production Repair Department

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have? 

3+ years of previous experience working in a manufacturing environment and technical electronic repair field

Associates degree in electronics or technical degree in a related field

Experience performing surface mount rework

What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?  

Occasional: bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, exposure to changes in temperature, being near moving machinery, and office machinery

This position requires incumbents to regularly sit at a desk and  operate standard office equipment such as a computer and bar scanner

Employee is occasionally required to stand and walk, lift, carry and/or move up to 20 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Must be able to talk and hear

The noise level in the work environment is low, and it is an Electro Static Discharge (ESD) safe area; wrist strap and smocks must be worn at all times

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
