What You Will Do:

This is a Repair Design Engineer (RDE) position is with the Cases & Composites  Group within the Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering (ASE) Commercial repair group.  The RDE is responsible for the development of repairs for commercial gas turbine engine parts, and including development of the repair concept, writing of the repair, obtaining internal approvals, obtaining FAA regulatory approval, and coordination with the end user.

Lead a multi-discipline team to establish repair design requirements and ensure repairs are safe, durable, and meet the quality requirements of the OEM parts.Research operating environments and functionality of components, their interactions with mating parts, and develop strategies which will return damaged parts back to service.Create technical documents that provide engineering requirements for repairs.Interface with commercial product line management (PLM) to secure priorities and understand programmatic issues.Support the Customer in the resolution of field supportability issues.Ensure repair tasks are completed to schedule and on budget.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or similar and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experienceExperience in the use of Unigraphics/NX or similar CAD applicationUS Citizenship required due to government contracts10% Travel

Qualifications We Prefer:

Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Materials EngineeringExperience in Aerospace and familiarity with Federal Aviation RegulationsExperience with manufacturing processes such as machining, plating, plasma spray, welding, and composite fabrication.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
