**Description** RENDERING SUPERVISOR DIVISION: Pork POSITION:Rendering Supervisor – 3rd shift DEPARTMENT:Rendering LOCATION:Marshalltown, IA SALARY CLASS:Exempt REPORTS TO: Rendering Superintendent: Mark Straw QUALIFICATIONS: + Extensive knowledge and technical skill of rendering facility. + Prior supervisory experience highly recommended. + Good interpersonal relations; ability to handle conflict. + Good verbal and written communication skills. + Good mechanical aptitude. + Work 40+ hours per week in rendering facilities + Possible exposure to slippery floors, extreme temperature variations, loud noise, strong odor, chemicals, machinery and vehicles. RESPONSIBILITIES: + Supervise, evaluate and direct personnel on shift in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures. + Stimulate maximum efficiency and productivity of rendering employees; ensure proper training of employees. + Anticipate and determine causes of delays in operations and take appropriate actions to meet schedules. + Apply company employee relations policies in all dealings with employees. + Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized for efficient production. + Arrange to have appropriate records prepared and maintained (i.e., payroll, vacations, orders, weights). + Arrange for trucks and railroad cars to be filled with appropriate product when scheduled; complete necessary paperwork. + Work closely with other supervisors and management to promote efficiency and teamwork in each department and in plant facility.
