Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes Essential Job Functions: Manage the flow of product through the Rendering DepartmentEnsure acceptable results and yields of products being producedMonitor all supervisors to ensure each area is running at maximum productivity and efficiencyEnsures proper compliance of plant safety rules and regulationsAssure all machinery is maintained properly and in safe operating condition through preventative maintenanceCommunicate with corporate and other regional plants reporting opportunities, yields, and suggestions on improvementsCommunicate with plant personnel on various issues and relay these issues to all necessary employees in the rendering departmentAct as a liaison between plant management and rendering employeesEnsure adequate transportation is on hand to distribute productsCommunicate with lab areas on the quality of rendering productsOrder all maintenance parts when necessaryDirectly responsible for training all new supervisors and lead menExperience Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience in the meat industryMinimum high school diploma or GED equivalentMinimum of 5 years of experience in rendering area and working with rendering equipment or in depth knowledge and experience in maintenance at a beef processing plantLab and waste-water experience preferred but not requiredSkills/Abilities Required: General mechanical skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.Proficiency in multiple languages preferred but not requiredStrong leadership and interpersonal skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsPhysical Requirements: Desk workLifting Climbing stairs Frequent visits to production areas, environment consists of: Hot, Cold, Smells, PPE Required.Work 50+ hours per week on production floor, including weekend work and rotating shifts as needed.The schedule for this position is typically Mon - Fri. Weekend work required as scheduled.
