Job Description
Join our Prior Authorization Operations team as a Pharmacy Technician. In this role, you will process prior authorization requests, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to client commitments. You will use various business applications to analyze data, make determinations based on clinical protocols, and interact with customers to deliver outstanding service.
ResponsibilitiesProcess and finalize prior authorization requests within clients’ turnaround time and performance guarantees.Enter and prioritize prior authorizations in the system.Check formulary alternatives, review medications, and apply Prior Authorization Guidelines.Utilize drug references to verify drug indications and approvals.Document all information related to prior authorization approvals or non-approvals.Respond to incoming requests via phone, fax, ePA, and communicate statuses to physicians and pharmacies.Adhere to roles and responsibilities in prior authorization and clinical decision-making processes.Achieve productivity and accuracy standards in prior authorization processing.Analyze, research, and resolve prior authorization processing issues.Coordinate notifications to members, physicians, and pharmacies to manage requests and communicate determinations.Collaborate with client teams for special processing projects and claim inquiries.Assist Contact Center Services during high-volume periods to resolve inquiries.Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all prior authorization and member information.Essential SkillsActive pharmacy technician license in the state of residence.Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy technician experience.At least 1 year of remote prior authorizations experience.Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Understanding of managed pharmacy benefit concepts.Working knowledge of customer service in a retail/outpatient pharmacy environment.Familiarity with pharmacy software data submission requirements.Additional Skills & QualificationsPharmacy technician certification.Experience with pharmacy benefits management.Experience with Windows-based database programs.Aptitude for learning new programs.Work Environment
This is a remote position requiring a quiet workspace and high-speed internet connection. Candidates must reside in the MST or PST time zone and be available to work from 8am-6pm PST. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50/hr.
