Relief Security Officer – Derby, Burton, Nottingham 

Location: Covering Derby, Burton, Nottingham, Network Rail -Derby, Mercia House
We offer Contract for 8 hours per week however you'll be required to work more hours based on business needs
Shifts: Days, nights, weekends – covering holidays, sick leave, and last-minute absences

About the Role

We're looking for a professional and flexible Relief Security Officer to join our team supporting operations in Derby, Burton. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, secure environment across the  Derby, Burton area by covering shifts at short notice, including weekends and nights.

As part of a trusted Mitie team, you'll be protecting people, property, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver effective security across Network Rail and other Derby, Burton sites in line with Assignment Instructions (AIs)

Remain alert and respond promptly to incidents, risks, and emergencies

Maintain clear and accurate incident logs and follow escalation protocols

Operate security systems and contribute to a safe, compliant workplace

Represent the security team with professionalism and integrity at all times

What You'll Need

Valid SIA Licence

Valid Driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Previous experience in a security role

Strong awareness and decision-making under pressure

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Flexibility – availability at short notice, including weekends and night shifts
