Job Summary
This Maintenance Reliability Specialist is responsible for leading reliability improvements for assigned areas by focusing on improving uptime and reliability to meet increased demand.
Essential Duties
Oversee onboarding and deployment of new maintenance technicians and electricians.
Implement and track cross-training programs for internal maintenance talent.
Implement risk management strategies to include predictive and preventive maintenance activities in mechanical and electrical systems (vibration analysis, lubrication oil analysis, motor circuit evaluation, corrosion monitoring, thermography, equipment laser alignment, etc.)
Analyze rotating equipment, piping systems, electrical systems, and instrumentation systems for failures and provide solutions to eliminate or extend the time between failures.
Conduct and or lead breakdown analysis investigations, perform failure analysis, Fishbone analysis and focused improvement activities.
Work with other groups and plant personnel to instruct and or support Root Cause Analysis as a focused improvement strategy.
Work closely with maintenance mechanics and operators to improve techniques that adversely affect equipment or product quality.
Work closely with project engineers and or plant personnel to establish and enhance design standards that minimize life cycle costs and support high reliability
Remove process bottlenecks while utilizing continuous improvement techniques to drive changes required to remove obstructions and limit downtime.
Standardize Preventative Work Instructions to maximize the maintenance departments productively while minimizing wasted time and controlling cost.
Review engineering specifications and drawings, propose design modifications to improve reliability within cost and business requirements
Qualifications Required
H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
1+ year in maintenance and reliability improvement
2+ years in maintenance
Knowledge of and ability to apply safety principles
Ability to use a CMMS (Maximo preferred) and Google Office or Microsoft office products
Knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, lubrication
Knowledge of Vibration Analysis, Thermal Imaging, Oil Analysis, Non-Destructive Testing, and Laser Alignment
Knowledge of probability and statistical modeling, and prediction reliability tools appropriately
Demonstrated ability to develop, prioritize, and execute plans to deliver results on multiple projects and tasks to achieve critical operating objectives
Small capital project management skills
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of plant, technical, and management personnel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated the ability to effectively lead through the influence of non-reports
Demonstrated leadership skills to build a consensus in an environment
