Reliability Manager - Plant and Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME)

Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a high-caliber and Reliability Manager - Plant & Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) to join our engineering leadership team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for driving performance improvements, setting and enforcing reliability standards, tracking and optimizing KPIs, integrating new technologies to enhance asset performance, strategic thinking and hands-on execution to build a world-class reliability function in a demanding mining environment.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Lead, mentor, and develop the Plant and HME reliability engineering teams to deliver high-performance outcomes. Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and technical excellence. Align team objectives with site-wide reliability and availability targets. Develop and implement best-practice reliability strategies across fixed plant and HME. Standardize reliability engineering practices, methodologies, and reporting frameworks. Ensure compliance with company, OEM, and international maintenance and reliability standards. Define, monitor, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) for equipment availability, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), and planned maintenance compliance. Use data and failure analysis to drive root cause elimination and preventative strategies. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of performance metrics to internal stakeholders. Identify, assess, and lead the implementation of new and emerging reliability technologies (Predictive analytics, condition monitoring). Work closely with OEMs and technology vendors to introduce cost-effective solutions that improve equipment up time and reduce lifecycle costs. Champion digital transformation within the reliability function. Work closely with Maintenance, Operations, Projects, and Supply Chain to align maintenance strategies with operational goals. Collaborate with the Planning and Execution teams to improve work management processes and reduce reactive maintenance. Proactively manage asset health and reliability risks. Support cost-saving initiatives through optimized maintenance strategies and asset lifecycle management. Ensure budgeting and cost forecasting align with reliability priorities.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum of 8 years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably within a mining or heavy industrial environment. Strong leadership and team management experience, with a proven track record of building high-performing teams. In-depth knowledge of fixed plant and mobile equipment reliability strategies. Familiarity with tools such as FMECA, RCM, RCA, and CMMS systems (SAP). Experience with condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and digital reliability technologies. Must be a member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
