CEIS | Government is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to support facilities and equipment operations at the Savannah River Site/Savannah River National Laboratory. The Reliability Engineer will apply Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles to optimize the performance, availability, and lifecycle of critical facility systems and equipment. This role requires a strong background in facilities engineering, maintenance strategy, and the development of predictive and preventative maintenance programs within complex, regulated environments.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain reliability and maintenance programs for facility equipment and infrastructure systems.
Apply Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies to identify critical assets, failure modes, and cost-effective maintenance strategies.
Conduct root cause failure analyses (RCFA) and recommend corrective/preventive actions to improve system reliability.
Support the development of predictive maintenance (PdM) programs, including condition monitoring and data analysis.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure facility equipment meets performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Assist in the planning and execution of facility maintenance turnarounds, upgrades, and modifications.
Track and report reliability metrics, KPIs, and equipment performance trends to management.
Ensure maintenance strategies align with DOE, ASME, NFPA, and industry best practices.
Provide technical expertise during procurement and installation of new equipment to maximize lifecycle performance.
Interface with internal and external stakeholders, including DOE representatives, subcontractors, and site leadership.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, facilities engineering, or related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
7–10+ years of reliability or facilities engineering experience, preferably in DOE, nuclear, or industrial environments.
Demonstrated expertise with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and predictive/preventive maintenance strategies.
Experience with facilities systems (HVAC, electrical distribution, rotating equipment, utilities, etc.) and associated reliability practices.
Strong background in root cause analysis, equipment failure investigations, and corrective action implementation.
Proficiency in reliability analysis tools and CMMS systems.
Excellent organizational, communication, and team collaboration skills.
Professional certifications such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or CRE (Certified Reliability Engineer) are highly desirable.
Physical ability to conduct facility walkdowns, inspections, and field verifications as needed.
