Logan Health is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Release of Information Specialist to join our Health Information Management (HIM) team. This position plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy, security, and accessibility of patient health records, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and other regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of Release of Information (ROI) protocols, experience with electronic health records, and a commitment to confidentiality and service excellence. This role is well-suited for professionals who thrive in both independent and collaborative environments.
Qualifications:
One (1) of the following is required:
One (1) year of experience in an administrative office setting
One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting
Post-high school or vocational training
Additional Requirements:
Minimum of three (3) years of Health Information Management (HIM) experience (preferred)
Experience with Release of Information (ROI) (preferred)
Knowledge of medical terminology and HIM processes in an electronic health record (EHR) environment (preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the release of patient information in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Review and validate authorizations for medical record requests.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state regulations, including CMS guidelines and privacy practices.
Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and interdisciplinary teams to support ROI operations and ensure policy alignment.
Conduct audits and generate reports to track ROI activity and support process improvements.
Oversee patients' rights to inspect, amend, or restrict access to their medical records.
Assist in standardizing organization-wide ROI procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and consistency.
Support broader HIM functions including document preparation, scanning, indexing, and record maintenance.
Communicate professionally with patients, internal departments, and external stakeholders.

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)Schedule: 40 hours per week, 8 hour day shifts
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
