This posting will be filling two full time positions.
This position exists to provide assistance to Veterans and their dependents, communicating information related to State and Federal rules and regulations regarding maintenance charge calculations for the Minnesota Veterans Home, and Federal Veteran Benefit opportunities. Responsibilities include:
+ Conduct financial interviews with prospective residents and/or families and accurately calculate monthly maintenance fees based on analysis of financial documentation.
+ Compile and verify all necessary information required for VA Benefit/Per Diem/Service-Connected Disability applications and continuing evaluations sent to the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs - Benefits/Fee Basis/Adjudication.
+ Design systems and analyze documents and data for benefits.
+ Ensure that applications for benefits, such as Veterans Administration (VA), Social Security Administration, private entities, long term care insurance, etc., have been properly applied for and monitor these benefits and provide written reports as requested.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.
Two (2) years of business office experience that demonstrates:
Healthcare billing experience, applying knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, third party insurances and private pay
Strong communication skills
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of clientele who have various levels of knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of the reimbursement function
Proficiency with computer programs
Ability to review, analyze and organize financial information
**Preferred Qualifications**
Experience working with Veteran population
Knowledge of Veterans Healthcare Benefits
Understanding and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Experience with Point Click Care (PCC), Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
A reliable, self-starter who can work independently and learn quickly
**Additional Requirements**
A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check will be conducted on finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.
A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
