The Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation (BSWIR) Department of Psychology is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time Rehabilitation Psychologist to provide neurorehabilitation psychology services to adults with acquired disabilities from neurological conditions. Responsibilities include:
Individual, family and group psychotherapeutic interventions primarily aimed at facilitating adaptation, emotional adjustment, quality of life and community reintegration Provide interventions and treatment recommendations based in an understanding of psychological and social aspects of disability Active participation in the dynamic team process providing consultation to physicians, therapy staff, nursing and other allied health professionals Training and supervision of post-doctoral fellows. Teaching opportunities with PM&R residents, early career therapists (OT, PT, SLP) and other clinical staff also exist. Additional clinical opportunities include working with limb loss, SCI or FND Opportunity for protected research time
BSWIR Dallas is on the Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) campus east of downtown Dallas. This campus houses the flagship rehabilitation hospital – a 92-bed facility specializing in the treatment of traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke and other conditions – the post-acute neurorehabilitation day program for acquired brain injuries, post-acute spinal cord injury day program, and outpatient neurorehabilitation services. These programs serve approximately 600 acquired brain injury patients per year. This position is located in the outpatient center and primarily provides services to patients undergoing post-acute comprehensive rehabilitation for traumatic brain injury, stroke and other forms of acquired brain injuries.

Competitive benefits including student loan repayment assistance, continued education stipend and protected administrative time Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, based on factors such as market data, years of experience, board certification, and comparable positions Qualifications PhD or PsyD from an APA/CPA approved program in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology or Health Psychology Completion of an APA accredited internship Completion of a postdoctoral fellowship with emphasis in Rehabilitation Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology Eligibility for board certification in Rehabilitation Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology Licensed or license eligible in the state of Texas - candidates in the process of obtaining licensure are welcome to apply Specialty training in clinical neuropsychology or rehabilitation psychology as well as experience working as part of cross-disciplinary healthcare teams in a medical setting.
