When hospitals cannot provide the advanced care, expertise and new treatment options their patients require, they turn to us. *Position Description* In consultation and collaboration with Rehab leadership and the inter-professional healthcare team the Rehab Educator assesses, plans, develops, implements and coordinates learning activities to train, educate and develop Rehab staff. Functioning within the context of the framework of professional OT practice, the rehab educator is responsible for supporting organizational goals by ensuring role competence, best practice, and compliance with regulatory standards. This is an experienced and advanced level position that provides clinical expertise to members of the department. Approximately 25% of time spent in a direct patient care capacity as an Occupational Therapist. * Graduate of Occupational Therapy Program from an accredited program (Masters or Doctoral degree) * Current State of CT Occupational Therapy license required * Member of AOTA * 5 years’ work experience with the acute medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological and orthopedic populations * Demonstrated independence working in the ICU environment * Has had prior experience mentoring staff and/or students; previous experience as an educator preferred * Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively present and teach using various methods * Knowledge of theories, principals, and practices of professional role We take great care of careers.
