Rehab Assistant
*QUALIFICATIONSPost-secondary studies in social sciences or healthcare related areasG driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract, access to a vehicle and the proper insurance to transport clients in own vehicle is required (you will be transporting clients within the community)Availability to work on weekends, days, evenings, occasional overnights and some holidays

Please note\: this is a part-time position and hours fluctuate according to client census

 

The ideal candidate will also possess the following\:Experience working with individuals with mental health issues, dual diagnoses, behavioural challenges, chronic pain, or addictionsStrong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, including managing challenging behaviours (e.g., aggression, elopement, inappropriate conduct)Ability to work independently, take direction, and collaborate effectively with a teamWillingness and ability to perform personal care, medication assistance, ADLs, administrative tasks, light cleaning, advocacy, and therapy implementationExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPhysically capable of bending, stretching, and lifting Highly organized with the ability to complete tasks within set timeframesProficient with computers and secure email systems

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESWork with individuals with acquired brain injuries while assisting them with increasing levels of independence through individualized rehabilitation programs (responsible for up to 5 clients at a particular time)Complete documentation following company and provincial guidelinesFollow the designed rehabilitation program as accurately as possibleAssist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs); performing personal care, medication management, and various forms of transfer tasksAccompany clients on community outings as needed via external transport services or your own vehicleUtilize appropriate Crisis and Behavioural Management strategiesCollect required clinical data through documentation, tracking, etc.Complete research to assist with enhancing client programsOther clinical and administrative duties as assigned

Provide flexible availability (evenings, weekends, overnights, occasional holidays)
