Summary:Position Summary:
日本IPIGパラリーガルは、IPIGリーダーおよびIPIG技術契約担当者をサポートし、IPfolio、High Q、Ridocといったデータベースの管理を担当します。具体的には、特許、商標、技術契約、社内技術報告書に関するデータの取り扱いを支援します。そのために、IPIGのメンバー、発明者、契約申請者やその管理者、さらに外部の特許事務所とも連絡を取ります。
Japan IPIG paralegal supports Japan IPIG leader and Japan IPIG contract specialist and is responsible for data maintenance of IPfolio, High Q, and Ridoc. Namely, (s)he supports handling data of patents, trademarks, technical contracts, and internal technical reports. To do so, (s)he communicates members of IPIG, inventors of patents, requesters of technical contracts, their managers, and external patent firms.
Responsibilities Include:
Tasks and responsibilities of the position:
・特許手続きの管理 – オフィスアクション、国内段階への参入、異議申立、公式支払いなどの公式および代理人の期限を管理およびフォローアップ。 IPfolio データベースを更新。 委任状などの特許文献や外部機関が作成した特許請求書の方式確認。
・特許年金の管理 – 特許の年金維持管理。外部の特許事務所に年金の支払いと内部データベースの更新。
・ 技術報告の管理 – 社内技術報告データベースであるRidocのメンテナンス とデータの管理。レポート番号を発行し、Ridocに登録。
その他:
・特許や商標のライセンサへのロイヤリティの計算とレポートの作成
・知財関連の請求書を処理
・外部特許事務所との対応サポート
・日本 IPIGチームに保管されている紙の文書(署名済みの技術契約書の原本、発明出願書類、非出願書類など)を管理
・日本IPIGリーダーおよび日本技術契約担当者の知財関連業務をサポート
・太田技術研究所およびIPIGチームの月例EHS会議に出席
+ Manage patent procedure – manage and follow up official and agent deadlines such as Office Action, Entering into national phase, Opposition, Official payment. Update IPfolio database. Check formality matters of patent documents such as POA and patent request form prepared by an external.
+ Manage patent annuity –Manage annuity maintenance of patents. Instruct outside patent firms to pay annuities and update internal database.
+ Maintain Ridoc, technical report database system in MPMJ and manage its data. Issue report numbers and register them to the Ridoc.
+ Calculate patent royalty fees to licensors and prepare reports.
+ Handle invoice on IP.
+ Correspondence support with external IP agents.
+ Manage paper documents stored in Ohta IPIG team, such as original signed technical contracts, invention filing or non-filing documents, etc.
+ Support IP related jobs for Japan IPIG leader and Japan technical contract specialist.
+ Attend local monthly EHS meetings.
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
Minimum Qualifications:
・特許法と知的財産に関する基本的な知識を有していること
・日本語での優れたコミュニケーション能力があり、英語でのやり取りに抵抗を感じないこと
・Excel、WordなどのMicrosoft Officeソフトの基本的な操作スキル
・理系または法学系の学士号を保有していること
+ Basic patent law and IP knowledge
+ Excellent communication capability with fluent Japanese and enjoy English communication
+ Proficient skills of MS office
+ Batcher of Science or law
Preferred Qualifications:
・ 3年以上の、産業界におけるIP部門または法律事務所でのIP管理の経験
・J-platpat、Espasnet、Patentscopeなどの特許検索ツールを経験
・ Anaqua、IPfolio、PALNET、ATMS、DBBOYなどの特許管理システムの経験
TOEIC、700+
・知的財産管理技能士2級または3級
+ 3+ years of IP management experience in IP department in industry or at law firm
+ Experience inf patent search such as J-platpat, Espasnet, Patentscope
+ Experience in patent management system such as Anaqua, IPfolio, PALNET, ATMS, DBBOY
+ TOEIC, 700+
+ Certified specialist of Intellectual property management, Grade 2 or 3
