Regulatory Affairs Officer: Supervisory Office Job Profile

We are looking for:  

Regulatory Affairs function, of which the Supervisory Office forms a part, is established to support various departments within Ayvens in dealing with ECB supervision and related regulations to enable Ayvens to be in control of relevant regulatory and supervisory developments. 

The Supervisory Office acts as the central and single point of contact for supervisory interactions of Ayvens with the Joint Supervisory Team (JST) comprising members of ECB, ACPR, DNB. 

In this role, you will be working together with the other members of the Regulatory Affairs team and will act as a professional business partner of the relevant teams across Ayvens that, in cooperation and alignment with Société Générale’s (SG) relevant departments, interact with, and report towards Ayvens’s regulator(s). 

 

Key responsibilities: 

Contribute to and consult on the strategic vision of the supervisory relationships, based on an overall understanding of the priorities / supervisory topics and any issues for Ayvens and Ayvens Bank, facilitate dialogue between the management and experts with the supervisors; 

 

In alignment with SG Regulatory Coordination department (SEGL/DIR/SUP), coordinate supervisory communication and interaction by;  

promptly allocating of the supervisory requests internally, maintaining the centralized overview of the supervisory requests / actions/ meetings, 

serving as a linking pin between the Ayvens Bank - Ayvens - SG organization and the supervisors prompting for accurate, consistent and effective supervisory interaction; 

 

Maintain (direct and indirect) interaction with the JST members fostering good, transparent and efficient working relationship with the supervisors; 

 

Prepare/arrange, attend and make minutes of supervisory meetings, organize, if needed, debrief sessions on supervisory matters gathering relevant stakeholders; 

 

Facilitate preparation and organization of supervisory on-site inspections, internal model investigations, deep-dive reviews; 

 

Facilitate the “remediation phase” after, for example, on-site inspections, in particular, to assist during the strategic “right to be heard” period, including: 

ensuring there is no room for interpretation in the (content of) issued findings/ recommendations/ obligations, 

increasing awareness across the organization  re. the negotiation of deadlines (e.g. awareness about and assessment of interdependencies); 

 

Support the follow-up of remedial actions/ obligations and help to identify potential obstacles / incompleteness or need for internal alignment and/or internal escalation and/or informal communication to the JST; 

 

Maintaining central oversight of Ayvens’ interaction with supervisory authorities in other jurisdictions/other Ayvens regulated entities (via local regulatory correspondents); 

 

Provide administrative support for supervisory matters and ensure archiving and availability of the (historical) supervisory correspondence (such as reports, decision letters, fit & proper assessments, action plans, etc); 

 

Regularly liaise with Ayvens ExCo members and other relevant functional stakeholders within Ayvens, Ayvens Bank and SG re. supervisory matters;  

 

Increase internal awareness on supervisory matters (e.g. Newsletters, training sessions, etc.), support regular reporting towards internal stakeholders on the Regulatory Affairs activities and supervisory developments;  

 

Define rules, best practices and communication protocols to optimize supervisory interactions between internal stakeholders and the supervisors. 

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:  

The candidate is proactive, goal and results oriented, able to work closely with internal stakeholders across different management levels, various departments and countries. She / he can duly deal with confidential information, is reliable and has a high level of integrity and commitment. 

Required level of education and technical abilities: Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Law / Business Management / Economics and Finance; 

> 4 years of relevant experience in regulatory / supervisory or related topics and/or Risk/Compliance related project management and coordination;  

Project leading / management experience and working in interdisciplinary settings; 

Experience with effective communication to different stakeholders and translation of complex topics and regulatory requirements to internal processes, practical steps; 

Knowledge of / experience with financial products, risk management and compliance  practices; 

Solid reasoning, research and analytical skills, exploratory mindset and structured thinking; ability to deliver end-to-end solutions, ability to work in a changing / transformational environment, to work individually as well as within a team; 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills (fluent English is required, French / Dutch is an advantage); 

Desire to work on a variety of topics and with exposure to different-level stakeholders in an international company in different countries.
