Registration Specialist The University of Southern Mississippi is currently accepting applications for the position of Registration Specialist. Position Details Location Hattiesburg 118 College Drive Hattiesburg, Mississippi, 39406-0001 United States Division Office of the University Registrar Position Type Staff Employment Status Full Time Grant Funded No Pay Grade N02 Posting Close Date Open Until Filled Job Summary Reporting to the Supervisor for Registration and Student Relations, the primary duty of this position is to process the assignment of classroom space for approved academic and non-academic requests. Respond to inquiries concerning course scheduling and registration issues. Serve as a back-up in the absence of the Supervisor for Registration and Student Relations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities + Coordinates the assignment of University classrooms for academic and non-academic requests. + Serves as primary point of contact for academic departments requesting classroom space. Processes classroom and event information into the University space utilization software. + Assist students, faculty, and staff with course scheduling and registration issues. + Assist the campus community during the academic units schedule entry period. + Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree(GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) + Working knowledge of PeopleSoft. + Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. + Ability to work with multiple departments across campus. + Strong analytical and problem solving skills. + Proficient with Microsoft Excel and ability to use Microsoft Word. Preferred Qualifications One to two years experience employed in a higher education environment. Working knowledge of student records module with in PeopleSoft and familiar with Ad Astra scheduling software.
