Started in 1998 by Dr. Yves Galea, Sepulveda Animal Hospital has been servicing the needs of pets and people of West Los Angeles for over 20 years. We are seeking a Lead Registered Veterinary Technician to join our expanding team and help us deliver exceptional experiences for our clients and their pets. Emotional intelligence required for communicating and interacting with coworkers and clients Values based leadership style Knowledge and understanding of servant leadership Ability to stay calm and lead in high-stress situations Ability to adapt to change within the day and be flexible to hospital needs Oversight of the following for technician and kennel attendant team Training and onboarding for kennel attendants and veterinary technicians Ensure that various support team task lists are completed daily Monitor daily lunch schedule for kennel attendants and veterinary technicians Partner with HM in scheduling needs for veterinary technicians and kennel attendants Partner with HM to create, improve, and execute SOPs within the hospital. Assist HM with inventory as needed Assist HM with Controlled drug log monitoring Ensure hospital flow is efficient and organized throughout the day Assist in client communication and speak with dissatisfied clients when needed Flexibility with schedule, some weekends required Cal OSHA and AAHA knowledge of compliance is a plus Fear-free training is a plus Other duties as assigned Technical Skills: Professional client communication and education, obtaining medical histories and symptoms Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols for fellow staff members Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, anaesthesia monitoring Proficient in dental prophylaxis Position Requirements: 1 year minimum in leadership type role Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state.
