This team helps patients with home oxygen, nebulizers for respiratory treatment, CPAP and BiPAP equipment and training, trach equipment care, and more. Patients don't have to go anywhere to receive this care, as Cleveland Clinic caregivers bring the respiratory equipment and supplies to them and Registered Respiratory Therapists teach them how to use the equipment safely and effectively. Registered Respiratory Therapists also have the opportunity to specialize in a specific task, such as COPD home assessment and education, CPAP, hospital discharge or road assignment. **Caregivers in this role will work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm with on-call rotations. On-call coverage occurs every ninth weekday evening (5:30pm to 6:30am) and every ninth weekend. Weekend on-call responsibilities span Saturday through Monday morning, with 24/7 availability.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to home care patients with respiratory insufficiencies. + Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care. + Implement and monitor patient care plans. + Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans. + Monitor, record and communicate patients' conditions. + Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications and treatments, and perform blood gas puncture and analysis. + Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate of a CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program. + Ohio Respiratory Care Board licensure. + Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). + Valid state driver's license, good driving record, and ability to obtain and maintain eligibility as determined by CCF's insurance carrier's requirements to operate foundation vehicles.
