This position is for Interventional Radiology at JH. As part of the Perioperative Services, Interventional Radiology supports a high volume of diverse patients and families. Interfacing with Diagnostic Services, Interventional Radiology provides pre, intra and post procedural care for adult patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As a member of a Multidisciplinary Health Care team, the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) applies clinical expertise and knowledge of adult patient care, provide nursing intervention and evaluate clinical practice across the continuum of care meeting the client and family needs with the core values of respect, caring, innovation and accountability.

1. Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RPN
2. Current BCLS, ACLS certification required. Critical care preparation and ability to initiate cardiac monitoring, identify cardiac dysrhythmias, use of pulse oximetry and knowledge of procedural sedation protocol.
3. Recent (within 2 years) experience in on surgical unit required
4. Recent (within 2 years) experience in preparation, intra procedure care and recovery of adult patients receiving intravenous sedation required.
5. Interventional Angiography (within 2 years) required.
6. CVAD, VAT certification required. PCVAD and PVAT certification preferred.
7. Ability to see/work in a dimly lit environment.
8. Ability to assess concurrent demands, set priorities, organize work and maintain accuracy and concentration during periods of high acuity.
9. Demonstrated effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
10. Evidence of participation in on going education professional development.
11. Must be able to wear lead aprons for long periods of time (aprons are approximately 15-20 pounds in weight)
