Job Summary:
The Wound/Ostomy Registered Nurse provides specialized clinical expertise in the assessment, planning, and treatment of patients with wounds, ostomies, and skin integrity concerns. This role supports nursing staff and collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure best practices in wound management and patient outcomes. The Wound RN exemplifies Upstate’s mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures. As an integral part of the nursing team, the Wound RN also contributes to staff education, clinical consultations, and quality improvement initiatives related to wound care.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State and two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience in an acute care specialty area.
Preferred Qualifications:
BSN, experience as a charge nurse and/or clinical educator, demonstrated ability to work autonomously and independently
Work Days:
M-F days with weekend rotation
