Th **is announcement will be used to fill a Registered Nurse/Third Party Billing Coordinator position at the Minnesota State Academies (for the Blind and for the Deaf) in Faribault, Minnesota.**
**Minnesota State Academies is a preK-12+ residential school for deaf/hard of hearing youth, blind/visually impaired youth and deaf/blind youth. The school year typically begins at the end of August and ends the first week of June. Extended School Year/Summer School typically is three weeks in the month of July. This position is scheduled for 217 working days a year.**
**This position will coordinate and provide oversight of the MSA third-party billing and reimbursement program ensuring that the MN Dept of Human Services requirements are met.**
+ **Applies knowledge of special education due process procedures, student evaluations and Individual Educational Plans (IEP's) , student care plans for PCA, third party billing, organizational information, and procedures to obtain third party payment for IEP health related services.**
+ **Responsible for ensuring that all narrative, statistical, and financial information are accurate and documented appropriately. Provides training and support for staff providing services to students and monitors personal care programs that adhere to regulations for medical billing and Individual Education Programs (IEPs).**
+ **Provides school health care services to students at the Minnesota State Academies as part of the Health Services Team including assessment, consultation, examination, referral, delegation, supervision and treatments to students so that health needs are met in accordance with state rules and regulations.**
**Health Services at the Minnesota State Academies is a shared service across both MSAB and MSAD and reports to the Director of Health Services.**
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ C **urrent Registered Nurse (RN) license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing and 5 years experience working as a Registered Nurse.**
+ **Experience with child development,** nursing documentation, care planning and maintaining health records.
+ Requires the ability to provide school health nursing services/care to students and respond quickly to emergencies utilizing nursing skills and first aid training.
+ Experience with computer programs and the ability to understand/work within multiple systems.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ **Bachelor’s Degree in nursing**
+ Public Health Nurse certificate (PHN)
+ Licensed School Nurse (LSN)
+ ASL skills (ability to learn) sufficient to communicate with deaf/hard of hearing students
+ Experience working with students in a special education, school or similar environment
+ Experience and knowledge of the MN Health Care Program and third party reimbursement processes.
**Physical Requirements**
+ **Frequent: walking, standing, sitting. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance**
+ **Incumbents are required to possess the physical ability to respond quickly to emergencies**
