Responsibilities include effective communication within the healthcare team, evaluate and trouble shoot vascular access devices, and provide education to other healthcare team members regarding vascular access devices and care. **Essential Job Functions** + Provides vascular access to patients such as placing PICC lines, peripheral IV catheters and obtain lab work if needed with or without the use of ultrasound. + Evaluate and trouble shoot vascular access devices, including central lines. + Provide education to other healthcare team members regarding vascular access devices and care. + Responsible for charting of care. + Communicate with Team Lead regarding care provided to patients on the unit, including assessments and treatments. + Data collection for patient safety and quality. + Requires the daily assessment of all IV sites (central and peripheral) on inpatient units, change IV dressings and IV site as required per policy (SJWH ONLY). + This document is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, or working conditions associated with the job.
