**About this Unit:**
The Pediatric Med/Surg Float Pool RNs are able to float to the Pediatric Med/Surg units.The critical care RNs function in the role of charge flyer in which they serve as a resource for the entire pediatric hospital, making staffing recommendations, as well as are members of all emergency response teams, including code blue, rapid response team, and trauma activation team.
This position will be working 0.75 FTE (60 hours) every two weeks on the Day/Night shift, 12 hour shifts and every third weekend.
The RN role offers an additional $2.00/hour for being in the Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool.

**Responsibilities**
+ Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
+ Involves the patient, family and other health team members in gathering data.
+ Uses an ongoing, systematic process to gather relevant information (biological, psychological, spiritual and social aspects) from patient and family.
+ Prioritizes interventions based on patient acuity, available resources, and patient/family preferences and needs..
+ Initiates patient/family teaching as appropriate to age, readiness to learn and available resources.
+ Collaborates, consults, or makes referrals if unable to perform safely and independently.
+ Uses the full range of therapeutic modalities to support and augment the healing process, moving from least intensive and invasive to more, depending on need and context.
+ Involves the patient, family and other health team members in evaluating care.
+ Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care
**Required Qualifications**
+ MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
+ Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
+ Will Consider New Grads
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelors Degree in Nursing or BAN
+ 1-3 years of nursing experience

The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting.
