Learn About A Day in the Life of a Med Surg RN: Responsibilities The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for medical/surgical patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Serve in a resource role when oriented and as directed. Support the organization’s vision and mission. Utilize knowledge of patient age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contribute to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Qualifications Job Requirements: Associates in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma RN from an accredited school of nursing. Current RN License or Compact License deemed by the OK State Board of Nursing. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 60 days of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire. Six months previous nursing experience. Preferred Job Requirements: Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSBN) from an accredited school of nursing.
