Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Evaluation Unit
Job Title: R.N. III Department: Cardiac Evaluation Location: Rochester General Hospital Hours Per Week: Per Diem Schedule: Per Diem SUMMARY: The R.N. III maintains quality patient care through consistent standards of nursing practice in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Utilizes the nursing process: assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate to execute appropriate individual patient care. Responsible for orientation, training/precepting, and mentoring of other staff on the unit. The R.N. is instrumental in providing an exceptional experience for the patient and family . Cardiac Evaluation Unit The Cardiac Evaluation Unit (5100) specializes in the care of patients post-MI, post-Cath lab procedures (TAVR, PCI), post-device care (pacemakers/AICDs), and patients with CHF or arrhythmias requiring cardiac drips. This role is part of the Registered Nurse Level III / Clinical Nurse III must complete the following: + 1 year RN experience + AAS in Nursing and RN license + Strong clinical and leadership skills + Experience as a preceptor and charge nurse experience + Focus on teamwork and team support + Seeks to expand knowledge and experience through formal and informal education + Minimum of 4 activities in each Pillar (Leadership, Quality, and Organizational Contribution) + 12 Continuing education units (CEU's) + 15 Flex Items RESPONSIBILITIES: + Assessment - Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family . + Planning & Implementation - Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family . + Evaluation & Education - Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities .   + Training - Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters . REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required . + Registered Nurse license in New York State. + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. + Minimum of 6 months of experience as a registered nurse. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : + Bachelor’s of Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred. EDUCATION: AS: Nursing (Required) LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. PAY RANGE: $37.18 - $49.92 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14621 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
