The city of Evanston is a small and friendly Rocky Mountain community that is a 45-minute drive from the world-famous ski slopes of Park City, Utah. Concerts, shopping, dining, professional sporting events, and an international airport 60 minutes away in Salt Lake City. Evanston's area is excellent for recreational activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, biking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing **This position is eligible for a $2,000 hiring bonus** See notes for eligibility and conditions Human Resource Contact:Brenda Hales /brenda.hales@wyo.gov/ 307-444-0791 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level. + Provides professional nursing services to patients, clients, and staff in chronic as well as acute care settings. + Performs nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment & evaluation of ill and disabled persons. + Provides continuous care of patients through assessing, evaluating, and implementing processes to ensure appropriate patient care and outcomes. + Accurately prepares and administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician. + Provides pre and post-operative care. + Triages calls from staff and handles routine concerns and emergencies. + Communicates with Physician and follows through on orders as appropriate. + Review lab values and consult reports. + Provide formal assessments, documentation, and progress notes. + Assists with patient ADLs (activities of daily living). + Trains and assigns work to LPNs and Aides, but no direct supervision is performed. + Arrange for and conduct nursing clinics and classes; teach individuals and groups in health promotion and disease prevention. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE: + Knowledge of laws, principles, practices, and techniques of professional nursing. + Knowledge of the maintenance of medical records, charts, reports, and observations. + Knowledge of principles of nursing process and scientific process. + Knowledge of public healthcare functions and essential services. + Knowledge of applying medical diagnosis and treatment to patient care. + Knowledge of scientific concepts as a basis for decision-making. + Knowledge of physical, biological, and behavioral sciences. + Knowledge of evaluation services and programs according to standards. + Knowledge of work management and leadership theory and practice. + Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to healthcare. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate's Degree (typically in Nursing) Experience: 0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming OR Education & Experience Substitution: 3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to: + Lift/transfer patients to different positions. + Lift medical/patient equipment of varying sizes and weights to about 50 lbs. + Restrain clients for treatments, climb stairs to patient homes, and drive long distances. + Travel throughout the state and to national conferences if requested. + Work evenings, nights, and/or weekends when the situation requires it. NOTES: + FLSA: Non-Exempt + Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions.
