The city of Evanston is a small and friendly Rocky Mountain community that is a 45-minute drive from the world-famous ski slopes of Park City, Utah. Evanston's area is excellent for recreational activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, biking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing **This position is eligible for a $2,000 hiring bonus** See notes for eligibility and conditions Human Resource Contact:Brenda Hales /brenda.hales@wyo.gov/ 307-444-0791 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level. + Provides professional nursing services to patients, clients, and staff in chronic as well as acute care settings. + Performs nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment & evaluation of ill and disabled persons. + Provides continuous care of patients through assessing, evaluating, and implementing processes to ensure appropriate patient care and outcomes. + Accurately prepares and administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician. + Provides pre and post-operative care. + Triages calls from staff and handles routine concerns and emergencies. + Communicates with Physician and follows through on orders as appropriate. + Review lab values and consult reports. + Provide formal assessments, documentation, and progress notes. + Assists with patient ADLs (activities of daily living). + Trains and assigns work to LPNs and Aides, but no direct supervision is performed. + Arrange for and conduct nursing clinics and classes; teach individuals and groups in health promotion and disease prevention. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE: + Knowledge of laws, principles, practices, and techniques of professional nursing. + Knowledge of the maintenance of medical records, charts, reports, and observations. + Knowledge of principles of nursing process and scientific process. + Knowledge of public healthcare functions and essential services. + Knowledge of applying medical diagnosis and treatment to patient care. + Knowledge of scientific concepts as a basis for decision-making. + Knowledge of physical, biological, and behavioral sciences. + Knowledge of evaluation services and programs according to standards. + Knowledge of work management and leadership theory and practice. + Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to healthcare. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate's Degree (typically in Nursing) Experience: 0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming OR Education & Experience Substitution: 3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to: + Lift/transfer patients to different positions. + Lift medical/patient equipment of varying sizes and weights to about 50 lbs. + Restrain clients for treatments, climb stairs to patient homes, and drive long distances. + Travel throughout the state and to national conferences if requested. + Work evenings, nights, and/or weekends when the situation requires it.
