Job Summary: To render professional perioperative nursing care to patients who are undergoing operative and other invasive procedures. Responsible for operative procedure documentation and surgical preparation of patients including positioning and skin preparation. Ensures the operative room is sufficiently prepared with necessary supplies/equipment/medications/implants for the procedure. ollaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide patient care. Performs all activities in accordance with approved policies and guides. Supervises and delegates appropriate duties to ancillary personnel. Qualifications: Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license). BSN preferred; professional nursing certification preferred. Recent acute care experience within the past 3 years is preferred. Meets general hospital and departmental competency requirements. Prior OR experience or a graduate of an approved OR intern program required. May function as CRNFA (Certified RN First Assistant) if certification is approved by the Certification Board of Perioperative Nursing (CBPN) and competencies are met. BCLA required.
