As a Registered Nurse Level IV, you will leverage your clinical expertise and leadership skills to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor to fellow team members, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of care on the unit.

The 2200 Unit at Unity Hospital is a 19-bed, high-acuity medical/surgical and cardiac telemetry unit focused on the complex care of patients with both cardiac and medical comorbidities. This unit also specializes in telemetry, wound care, and managing acute and chronic conditions. We deliver exceptional, patient-centered care to a diverse population, offering a dynamic and supportive environment for nurses seeking to expand their clinical skills in an ever-evolving healthcare setting.

Diverse, High-Acuity Patient Population:Telemetry & Acute Medical Conditions: Nurses provide care for patients requiring continuous monitoring for cardiac and medical conditions.Drug & Alcohol Withdrawal: Patients are assessed with the CIWA protocol, stabilized, and transitioned to appropriate care facilities.Complex Wound Care: Specializing in patients with wound vacs, pressure ulcers, and post-surgical wounds.Cardiac & Rhythm Abnormalities: Expertise in managing patients with A fib, MI, chest pain, and administering medications like Tikosyn and IV Amiodarone.Post-Procedural Care: Care for patients after procedures such as pacemaker insertion, percutaneous coronary interventions, and cardiac ablations/cardioversions.Critical Infusions: Nurses manage patients requiring Insulin drips, Cardizem drips, and Heparin drips.

Complete the Clinical Ladder binder within 12 months of employment

SCHEDULE: Day/Evening/Night - Every other weekend / holiday

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.

Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assessment. Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and familyPlanning & Implementation. Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and familyEvaluation & Education. Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities Training. Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters

EDUCATION:

BS: Nursing (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
