The Cardiovascular / Telemetry Unit - 2100 Unit at Unity Hospital is a 20-bed, high-acuity medical/surgical and cardiovascular telemetry unit specializing in the complex care of patients with cardiac and medical comorbidities. The unit’s specialized care includes telemetry, wound care, vascular, and cardiac conditions. We provide exceptional, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population with both acute and chronic conditions, creating a dynamic and rewarding environment for nurses and healthcare professionals to advance their clinical skills. Key Features of the 2100 Unit: + Diverse, High-Acuity Patient Population: + Telemetry & Acute Medical Conditions: Nurses care for patients requiring close monitoring and interventions for various medical conditions. + Drug & Alcohol Withdrawal: Patients are assessed using the CIWA protocol, stabilized, and transitioned to rehabilitation as needed. + Complex Wound Care: Expertise in managing patients with wound vacs, pressure ulcers, and post-surgical wounds. + Cardiac & Rhythm Abnormalities: Expertise in administering rate and rhythm controlling medications (e.g., Tikosyn, IV Amiodarone). + Critical Infusions: Management of patients requiring Insulin drips, Cardizem drips, and Heparin drips. + Team-Oriented, Empowering Environment: + Nurse Autonomy & Empowerment: Nurses make critical decisions, advocate for patients, and work with a high degree of independence. + Collaborative Culture: The team dynamic ensures that every member is valued, with continuous support and growth. + Inclusive Workplace: We recognize the emotional and physical demands of caring for high-acuity patients, fostering a positive and supportive environment. + Development & Training Opportunities: + Nurses gain advanced wound management expertise, critical thinking skills, and experience in caring for medically complex and cardiac crisis patients. This role is part of the Registered Nurse Level IV / Clinical Nurse IV must complete the following: + Complete the Clinical Ladder binder within 12 months of employment + Minimum of 5 activities in each Pillar (Leadership, Quality, and Organizational Contribution) + 15 Continuing education units (CEU's) + 20 Flex items STATUS: Full Time LOCATION: Unity Hospital DEPARTMENT: Cardiovascular / Telemetry Unit (2100) SCHEDULE: Day/Evening/Night - Every other weekend / holiday DESIRED ATTRIBUTES: + Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. + Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse. + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification RESPONSIBILITIES + Assessment. Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family + Planning & Implementation. Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family + Evaluation & Education. Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities + Training. Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters EDUCATION: BS: Nursing (Required) LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. PAY RANGE: $37.18 - $49.92 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14626 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
