SUMMARY:
As a Registered Nurse Level IV, you will leverage your clinical expertise and leadership skills to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor to fellow team members, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of care on the unit.
Acute Stroke Unit (7800) – Excellence in Stroke and Complex Medical Care
The 7800 Acute Stroke Unit is a 39-bed specialized unit dedicated to the care of patients experiencing acute stroke events, including TIA, ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes (CVA, cerebral, and subarachnoid hemorrhages), as well as complex medical conditions. Our highly skilled nursing team delivers specialized, evidence-based care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This unit includes 28 telemetry beds, with 8 hardwired for continuous cardiac monitoring. Patients receiving post-thrombolytic (TNK) care are placed in hardwired rooms and receive 1:1 nursing for the first 8 hours, transitioning to 1:2 care thereafter to ensure close neurological and hemodynamic monitoring. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4/5 during the day and 1:5/6 at night, supporting both patient safety and nurse wellbeing.

This role is part of the Registered Nurse Level IV / Clinical Nurse IV must complete the following:
Complete the Clinical Ladder binder within 12 months of employment
Minimum of 5 activities in each Pillar (Leadership, Quality, and Organizational Contribution)

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Assessment. Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and familyPlanning & Implementation. Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and familyEvaluation & Education. Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities Training. Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical mattersEDUCATION:
