SUMMARY

As a Registered Nurse Level IV, you will leverage your clinical expertise and leadership skills to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor to fellow team members, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of care on the unit.

Excellence in Complex Medical/Surgical and Telemetry Care

The 2 West Unit at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital is a 37-bed medical-surgical unit specializing in complex medical care and continuous telemetry monitoring. Recognized for its fast-paced and dynamic environment, 2 West delivers exceptional, patient-centered care to individuals with a wide spectrum of acute and chronic conditions.

Patient Population and Conditions:

We care for a diverse patient population with a wide range of medical, surgical, and telemetry-related conditions, including but not limited to:

PneumoniaChronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)CellulitisSepsisOther acute and chronic conditions requiring continuous monitoring, complex medical management, and individualized care plans.

This position is part of the Registered Nurse Level IV (Clinical Nurse IV) role and requires the following to be completed within 12 months of employment:

Completion of the Clinical Ladder binder

A minimum of 5 activities in each pillar: Leadership, Quality, Organizational Contribution

STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: Newark Wayne Community Hospital (NWCH)

DEPARTMENT: Acute Medical/Surgical Unit (2West)

SCHEDULE: Day/Evening/Night - Every other weekend / holiday

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:

Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.

Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assessment. Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and familyPlanning & Implementation. Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and familyEvaluation & Education. Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities Training. Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters

EDUCATION:

BS: Nursing (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
