We believe that exceptional care starts with exceptional people. 🎯 About the Role Our experienced mental health team provides short-term inpatient psychiatric care services that treat many of the psychiatric conditions that come through Saratoga Hospital’s emergency department, including depression, suicidal thoughts, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and other conditions that may lead to patients being in danger of harming themselves or others. Patients 18 and older can be admitted to our 16- bed inpatient Mental Health Unit here at Saratoga Hospital under the direction of a staff psychiatrist. Assesses patients' physical/psycho-social status. Analyzes relevant data. Integrates assessment results in care planning, goals and outcomes. Provides for therapeutic interventions based on continued assessment, prescribed orders and input from other care providers. Provides for adequate pain management and administers medications according to critical elements. Provides for patient/colleague/self-safety and protection. Teaches patient/family to safely take and monitor effects of medications. Prepares a patient/family for prescribed treatment/procedure/discharge. Consults multi-disciplinary team as appropriate to enhance patient/family education. Provides counseling for health behaviors. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Candidates with an Associate Degree in Nursing will be considered provided they complete Bachelor of Science in Nursing within five years of date of hire. Experience in mental health preferred. Salary Range: $37 - $55.81 Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to: overall experience and qualifications, shift, and location.
