Position Responsibilities:

Conducts admission assessments, develops care plans, and facilitates discharge planning per department guidelines.

Continuously documents patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes according to program protocols.Coordinates and delivers nursing care, including hygiene, dressing changes, glucose monitoring, and oxygen therapy.Monitors high-risk patients, reports significant physical and emotional changes, and upholds patient safety.Uses non-violent interventions to avoid restraints, applying them safely and correctly when necessary.Demonstrates empathy and therapeutic communication while facilitating group activities and family interactions.Communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff through both verbal and non-verbal means.Participates in interdisciplinary planning, accurately transcribes physician orders, and acts on diagnostic findings.Maintains infection control standards and supports a safe, compliant therapeutic environment.Engages in performance improvement, attends departmental meetings, and supports legal and ethical patient care.

 

Qualifications:

·         Licensure/Registration/Certification: State of Florida RN License; Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Certification; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification within 1 year of employment.                                                                                   

·         Experience: 1 year medical/surgical nursing experience; minimum 1 year psychiatric nursing experience; knowledge of computer and basic programs.
