The iFlex RN is part of Intermountain’s internal travel agency for assignments. This is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. This RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Our iFlex RNs are expected to float if not needed at assigned facility.

About the iFlex RN Role –ICU

As an iFlex RN in the ICU, you’ll be part of Intermountain Health’s internal travel team, supporting critical care services at Park City Hospital. This role is ideal for experienced ICU nurses who thrive in dynamic environments and want to make a meaningful impact in high-acuity settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized nursing care to critically ill adult patientsMonitor vital signs and manage complex ventilator, medication, and hemodynamic therapiesCollaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, and the interdisciplinary teamRespond to emergencies and implement life-saving interventionsEducate patients and families about treatment plans and recoveryMaintain accurate and timely documentation of care

Minimum Qualifications:

2 years of recent Adult ICU experienceCurrent RN license in the state of UtahBasic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providersAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certificationCCRN or other critical care certification preferred (not required)

Compensation and Benefits:

$68–$75/hour flat rate, depending on specialty and location (adjusted quarterly)Competitive pay aligned with regional and national travel RN ratesFor assignments 50+ miles from home, pro-rated monthly housing reimbursement providedNurses secure their own housing during travel assignments

Posting Specifics:

Shift: Night shiftsSchedule: Full-time during a 3-month assignmentAssignment Frequency: 2–3 assignments per calendar year, depending on organizational needs

Travel Requirements:

Primary assignment location: Park City HospitalMay float to nearby Intermountain Health facilities if not needed at assigned siteMust be able and willing to travel and work across Intermountain Health locations as required

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period.
