The Registered Nurse – Employee Health & Wellness performs RN job duties within the Employee Health and Wellness Department. Provides physical nursing care for employees following established standards of practice.
The Registered Nurse is a professional who assumes the responsibility and accountability for the provision of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care provided that incorporates evidence-based practice. A key aspect of the work of Nursing is to continually improve the quality of nursing care by collecting and analyzing data.
HOURS: Full-Time or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every pay period. Day shift, Monday - Friday
Experience/Qualifications
Knowledge of nursing standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a nursing program. A bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.A minimum of four years’ previous experience as a medical, surgical, or emergency department nurse, or one year of experience in an occupational health service preferred.Possesses an active Wisconsin RN nursing license.Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire -All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, manikin, and knowledge testing. An acceptable BLS training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.(See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training, Policy #7087).Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) preferred.Knowledge of health promotion, common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment, ergonomics, workers’ compensation and OSHA law.Excellent physical assessment skills.Ability to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, employees, physicians, and allied health professionals.Ability to instruct employees and implement educational programs.High level of analytical ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail up to 80% of work time.Skill in preparing and maintaining records, written reports and responding to correspondence.Ability to use a personal computer.Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.Flexibility in the constant reprioritization of activities is essential.Employee Benefits
