This Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit is comprised of16 patients in the Regional Rehabilitation Centre, located at the Hamilton General site. This Unit treats patients with spinal cord, amputation and other complex rehabilitation needs.

As a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team, the Registered Nurse will collaborate in the provision of therapeutic services for clients with primarily spinal cord injury, amputation and debility.

1. Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
2. Heart and Stroke Foundation CPR course at the Heartsaver Plus level
3. Demonstrated knowledge and 2 recent years therapeutic experience within the last 5 years in the field of neurological rehabilitation with Spinal Cord population
4. Demonstrated knowledge and 2 recent years therapeutic experience within the last 5 years with clients who have had an amputation/musculoskeletal injury
5. Demonstrated knowledge in safety procedures/protocols with SCI and amputee/MSK patients
6. Demonstrated collaborative approach to daily interactions that support respectful and effective working relationships with clients, families, the rehabilitation team and the community
7. Demonstrated sound professional judgment and initiative based on training and experience
8. Demonstrated excellence in communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
9. Demonstrated team leadership, staff training and mentoring skills to work both independently and collaboratively with minimum supervision
10. Evidence of commitment to continuing education
