Job Title: Registered Nurse - Contract

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team at a fast-paced oncology center. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of nursing experience, preferably with a background in oncology. In this role, you will manage approximately 65-75 patients daily and collaborate closely with a Medical Assistant (MA) and a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). As the RN will be out for 6-8 weeks, we require an RN who can seamlessly take over both MA and nursing responsibilities with minimal training. Candidates with hospital or urgent care experience are also encouraged to apply.

ResponsibilitiesPrepping charts for consultations.Taking vitals on consult patients.Performing nurse triage for patients.Entering patient information into systems (Arya, E-Clinical, Care Cloud).Ordering imaging and scanning as needed.Assisting with the preparation of equipment and aiding physicians during treatments, examinations, and testing of patients.Observing, recording, and reporting patients' conditions and reactions to drugs and treatments to physicians.Administering prescribed medications as directed.Greeting patients and preparing them for physician examinations.Screening patients for appropriate information.Scheduling patient tests, procedures, and hospital admissions, and providing follow-up for receipt of test results.Responding to and referring incoming telephone calls.Essential SkillsMedical assisting expertise.Patient care and clinical care proficiency.Experience in triage and patient assessment.Additional Skills & QualificationsCustomer service skills.Experience with charting and order management.Familiarity with medical information systems such as Arya, E-Clinical, and Care Cloud.Work Environment

The work environment operates from 8 AM to 5 PM. You will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful patient care interactions, especially working with cancer patients, which offers a unique level of empathy and understanding.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $30.00/hr.
