Position serves as a Certified Nurse Aide Instructor (CNAI) as an education developer for various communities in Michigan. Duties have been expanded to coordinate more programs and teach Registered Nurses on the delivery of the MCTI CNA program and ensuring that other training areas are in line with the model and standards. Expansion of this program is enhancing the ability to mentor other sites in becoming a CNA training facility. The complexity of the responsibilities has grown from the original program which was geared towards recent high school graduates with learning disabilities to expanding the programs to include other vulnerable adults in gaining skills to begin a career towards gaining independence. Duties also include collaborating with the community and the statewide agencies in obtaining resources and facilities necessary in beginning and maintaining programs with many of the long term care facilities in different counties that hire students from MCTI.
