About UPMC Shadyside 3 Pavilion:

3 Pavilion is a medical teaching unit designed to provide specialized care for patients with complex medical needs requiring cardiac medical needs, particularly those requiring cardiac monitoring and stroke management. The emphasis on team-oriented care, hands-on experience with various medical devices (such as chest tubes, feeding tubes, and tracheostomies), and a supportive learning environment designed for nurses can develop both their clinical skills and teamwork abilities. The focus on teaching and leadership fosters a strong environment for professional growth. 

High-Acuity Patients: Patients on this unit require staff members that are highly motivated, encouraging, and driven to provide patients with the best possible experiences and outcomes. Career Advancement: All nurses are telemetry trained and NIH stroke scale certified on this unit. Professional development initiatives and leadership support empower nurses to become active and respected participants within the interprofessional team that provides evidence-based, compassionate care to our patients.  Fast-Paced Teamwork: Our Registered Nurses work rotation shifts including weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor.

UPMC’s Monthly Loan Repayment Program, exclusively for 2024 and 2025 nursing graduates, offering $20,000* in loan repayment paid over three years (*Eligible flex full-time RN roles to receive prorated amount).
