Registered Nurse – ED Admissions (MS/Tele Experience Required) - Rockville Cebtre, NY
Salary: $2987 / Week Registered Nurse– ED Admissions (MS/Tele Experience Required) The ED Admissions RN plays a criticalrole in the transition of patients from the Emergency Department to inpatientcare. This position requires a highly skilled and compassionate nurse with astrong background in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing. The RN isresponsible for assessing, stabilizing, and preparing patients for admission,ensuring continuity of care and patient safety during the transition process. Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities + Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients being admitted from the ED + Perform comprehensive assessments including vital signs, physical exams, health histories, and cardiac rhythm interpretation + Monitor telemetry and respond to cardiac rhythm changes, alarms, and arrhythmias + Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed + Collaborate with ED and inpatient teams to ensure smooth and timely admissions + Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, procedures, and inpatient transfer + Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, and care plans + Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) + Respond promptly to emergencies such as rapid deterioration, arrhythmias, or code situations + Uphold infection control, safety, and quality standards + Advocate for patients and support their rights and confidentiality MinimumRequirements + Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice + Minimum one year of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required + Emergency Department or Admissions experience preferred + Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred) + Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring + Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (if applicable) + TB screening and health clearance (as required by contract or regulation) + Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations + Successful completion of new hire orientation and ED Admissions training + Strong communication skills and proficiency in English + Basic computer literacy + Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we recognize that our nurses arethe heart of our mission.
